March 2012's yarn is a blend of British Bluefaced Leicester (50%) and Dorset Poll (50%). The Poll Dorset is a short wool, meat producing sheep that was developed in Australia between 1937 and 1954 with the aim of breeding a true Dorset type sheep without horns. They are unique in their ability to breed at any time of the year and produce one of the highest quality wools grown in this country. It is completely free from grey fibres and is remarkably white even before scouring. The Poll Dorset types originated in Australia and the British Polls have been bred from the rams imported into this country. Since the early 1900s the breed has spread throughout Britain and more recently into Europe displaying an ability to cope with very varied climatic conditions. Although we double wash all our yarns, you may find there is some dye residue left, this is perfectly harmless. We recommend you hand wash your finished garment using dish washing detergent.
Vat inclusive, however non EU countries will have Vat deducted at checkout.
